About the Role

As a leading owner and operator of landmark luxury hotels, Stamford Hotels and Resorts is seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel Manager to join our senior management team at Stamford Plaza Melbourne. This position is to support the hotel's operation and ensure excellence in service delivery and customer satisfaction.

The successful applicant will assume responsibility for the day-to-day efficient operation of the Hotel and take full ownership of all operational departments, leading Room Division, Maintenance, Kitchen, Food and Beverage teams and assisting the General Manager in managing other aspects of the Hotel as they arise.

This role supports and assists the General Manager to ensure the continued development of our strategic financial vision of the hotel.

To achieve the successful running of the hotel day to day operations and drive top line revenue, achieving budgeted profitability, whilst providing exceptional customer satisfaction, it is incumbent that you possess:

  • Previous experience as Hotel Manager/ Hotel Operations Manager or equivalent role at a large deluxe hotel.
  • Passion for service excellence in building a customer service culture.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Hotel Manager/ or Director of Operations position in a full-service hotel.
  • Have sound understating of guest flow, workflow, and service flow.
  • Have a good understanding of operational P&P and SOP and driving implementation and being task driven to achieve deadlines.  
  • Driving a service culture with all departments and championing positive guest reviews daily and meeting hotel benchmark service targets.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and training front line staff where required and being hands on in operations to support the team to deliver operational excellence.
  • Excellent financial and forecasting skills for operations to manage resources allocation and to ensure business goals are met.
  • In depth operations knowledge of Front Office / R&M / Rooms / Reservations / Food & Beverage systems.
  • Proven track record in driving revenue, profitable F&B outlets and possess an innovative mind to develop F&B promotions.
  • Sales & Marketing skills especially within the hotel industry to drive F&B sales in collaboration with revenue and marketing.
  • Revenue Management skills with experience of budgets, P&L's and forecasting and managing departmental cost controls.
  • Able to work weekdays and weekends as per business and operational needs, especially over event period and high occupancy days.
  • Directing and assisting departmental managers in order to consistently achieve service and operational standards 
  • Great leadership skills with an open-door policy and have interpersonal skills to collaborate and lead by example.
  • Excellent communication skills, be motivated and professional in all dealing with guests, colleagues, and staff members.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Hotel Management or Business Administration.
