About the Role
We are currently seeking a Night Manager to join our amazing team in the Front Office Department. Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will ensure the smooth and effective operation of the Front Office Department with particular focus on Night Audit and End of Day procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Night Manager in leading and supervising overnight hotel operations, and assume responsibility for the shift when delegated or required.
- Carry out Night Audit and End of Day procedures, ensuring all financial, operational, and supporting documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
- Handle guest requests, enquiries, and complaints appropriately providing welcoming, professional, and courteous service
- Assist with hotel operations and respond calmly and effectively to any emergency, safety concern, or operational issue that occurs overnight.
- Manage the overnight room service operation, including receiving and processing orders, coordinating preparation and delivery, accurately posting charges, and maintaining the hotel's service, hygiene, and food-safety standards.
- Prepare and distribute Daily Duty Logs, incident reports, comprehensive shift handovers and other operational communications to the required standard and within the appropriate timeframes.
- Perform regular property and security walks, ensuring all areas of the hotel are safe and secure, conducting full lock-up procedures.
- Liaise effectively with Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments to maintain operational continuity.
- Ensure the Front Office maintains a professional standard and remains up to date with VIP guest movements, hotel events, local attractions, and activities.
- Maintain high standards of communication, accuracy, and attention to detail across all reports, records, and correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures, workplace health and safety requirements, emergency protocols, and security standards.
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of one year of experience in a similar Front Office Leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience with Night Audit procedures and hotel property management systems, with Opera Cloud experience preferred.
- Competency using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- A current First Aid Certificate, or a willingness to obtain one upon appointment if not already held.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills when dealing with guests, management, and team members.
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when completing financial, operational, incident, and security documentation.
