Stamford Plaza Adelaide is looking for a friendly, professional and enthusiastic Porter / Concierge to join our Front Office team.

 

As one of the first and last people our guests meet, you will play an important role in ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and outstanding service throughout their stay.

About the role

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will be the face of Stamford Plaza Adelaide, creating exceptional first and last impressions for every guest. This is a varied, hands on role that combines outstanding customer service with operational support, ensuring our guests enjoy a seamless and memorable stay from arrival through to departure.

 

Working as part of the Front Office team, you will be responsible for welcoming guests to the hotel, assisting with luggage, escorting guests to their rooms, and providing information about the hotel's facilities and local attractions. No two days are the same, and you will have the opportunity to interact with guests from around the world while delivering personalised service that exceeds expectations.

 

You will also play an important role in supporting the day to day operations of the hotel by responding promptly to guest requests, coordinating transportation, arranging taxi bookings, delivering guest amenities, assisting with room moves, and working closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage and Front Office to ensure our guests receive a consistently high level of service.

 

As a brand ambassador for Stamford Plaza Adelaide, you will proactively engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and resolve enquiries in a professional and timely manner. Whether you're providing restaurant recommendations, assisting with conference delegates, organising luggage storage, or helping a family settle into their room, your friendly attitude and attention to detail will contribute to creating memorable guest experiences.

 

This position requires someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, is physically active, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. Flexibility is essential, as the role operates across a seven day roster, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Welcome all guests with a warm, friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist guests with luggage during arrival, departure and throughout their stay.
  • Escort guests to their rooms while introducing hotel facilities and services.
  • Coordinate luggage storage and group arrivals and departures.
  • Deliver guest requests, amenities and room service items as required.
  • Arrange taxis, airport transfers and provide transport information.
  • Provide accurate recommendations on local attractions, dining, shopping and entertainment.
  • Respond promptly to guest enquiries and resolve issues or escalate where appropriate.
  • Assist with conference and event logistics when required.
  • Maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the hotel entrance and lobby areas.
  • Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
  • Support Front Office operations during peak periods, including assisting with check ins and departures where required.
  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures, including workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with guests and colleagues.

About You

  • Previous experience in a hotel Concierge, Porter, Front Office or customer service role will be highly regarded or customer service experience, in a similar role is desirable
  • A genuine passion for customer service and hospitality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A professional presentation and positive attitude.
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays.
  • First Aid Trained (desirable)
  • Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks
  • Full unrestricted working rights in Australia
