We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Conference & Events Manager to lead our Conference & Events team and drive the successful delivery of meetings, conferences, exhibitions, weddings, and special events.

About the role
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for leading the Conference & Events team and overseeing the successful planning, coordination, and execution of all conferences, meetings, exhibitions, weddings, gala dinners, social functions, and special events held within the hotel.
This is a hands on leadership role that combines sales, client relationship management, operational planning, and team development. You will be responsible for ensuring every event is delivered to the highest standard while maximising revenue opportunities and maintaining exceptional levels of guest satisfaction.
As the key point of contact for clients throughout the event journey, you will build strong relationships, understand client requirements, negotiate contracts, and ensure all event details are accurately communicated across the hotel. You will work closely with operational to ensure seamless event delivery and an outstanding guest experience.
The role also carries significant commercial responsibility, including driving event revenue, achieving departmental budgets, managing forecasts and reporting, monitoring conversion rates, and identifying opportunities to grow market share and increase profitability. You will analyse business performance, monitor future bookings, manage event pipelines, and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, commercially minded, and passionate about hospitality, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships, and deliver exceptional experiences for clients and guests alike.
This role may require flexibility to work outside standard business hours to attend key client meetings, site inspections, major events, and business functions as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Conference & Events team to achieve individual and departmental objectives.
- Manage the day to day operations of the Conference & Events department.
- Drive revenue growth through proactive sales, client relationship management, and conversion of enquiries.
- Oversee the planning and coordination of conferences, meetings, exhibitions, gala dinners, weddings, and special events.
- Prepare and negotiate event proposals, contracts, and event orders.
- Ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and reporting of event revenue and business activity.
- Conduct site inspections and client meetings to secure new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event organisers, and industry partners.
- Work closely with Food & Beverage, Kitchen, teams to ensure successful event delivery.
- Monitor departmental performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, health and safety requirements, and brand standards.

- Extensive experience in Conference & Events Management, ideally within large scale hotels or multi venue environments.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high performing teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, forecast revenue, and analyse performance.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
- A strong eye for detail and the ability to anticipate client and guest needs.
- Proficiency in hotel systems such as Opera, Delphi, or similar event management platforms (preferred).
