Are you a skilled and proactive Painter / Handyperson looking to join a dedicated Engineering team at Stamford Plaza Adelaide, where no two days are the same?

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the presentation and upkeep of the hotel through painting, repairs, and general maintenance, helping to create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members.

About the role

As a Painter / Handyperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the hotel through painting, patching, and general maintenance works.

This hands-on role involves a combination of planned and reactive maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. A strong focus will be placed on painting full rooms, touch-ups, and ensuring all finishes meet the hotel’s high presentation standards.

You will also support the Area Chief Engineer and wider Maintenance team with general repairs, minor maintenance tasks, and ongoing projects.

Your day may include anything from preparing and painting full guest rooms, completing patchwork and touch-ups, to assisting with minor carpentry, plumbing, or general repairs—no two days are the same. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, has a strong eye for detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete full room painting, patchwork, and touch-ups to a high standard
• Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling, and priming prior to painting
• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs across the hotel
• Assist with carpentry, basic plumbing, and other handyman tasks as required
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests via the internal ticketing system
• Support preventative maintenance schedules and ongoing improvement works
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
• Assist with larger maintenance projects as directed

About you

• Proven experience in painting and general maintenance/handyperson roles

• Strong attention to detail with pride in delivering high-quality finishes
• Experience in a hotel or similar environment (desirable)
• Basic skills across carpentry, plastering, or minor repairs highly regarded
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Flexible to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
• Full working rights within Australia
