We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with Maintenance Management expertise to lead our dedicated maintenance team on a full-time basis. This role combines technical electrical engineering skills with leadership responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of our luxury hotel facilities.Perfectly located on the banks of the Brisbane River and just steps from the Botanic Gardens, Stamford Plaza Brisbane is the city’s finest 5-star luxury hotel and the flagship property for Stamford Hotels & Resorts. Duties and Responsibilities
- Electrical Engineering & Design
- Plan and design electrical systems for hotel operations, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Determine circuit arrangements, transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components to meet operational needs.
- Interpret specifications, drawings, standards, and regulations related to electrical power equipment and usage.
- Maintenance Management
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team, contractors, and suppliers.
- Organise and manage resources for electrical components, machines, and equipment.
- Establish delivery and installation schedules for electrical systems, switchgear, cables, and fittings.
- Conduct routine inspections and coordinate preventative maintenance programs for electrical and general building systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and compliance documentation for electrical and building services.
- Operational Support
- Communicate effectively with guests and internal departments to resolve maintenance issues.
- Support facility upgrades, refurbishment projects, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure all tasks comply with WHS, fire safety, and electrical standards.
Skills and Experience
- Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in electrical engineering and maintenance leadership, preferably in hospitality or commercial facilities.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and building services.
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and general building issues.
- Experience managing contractors, maintenance schedules, and project timelines.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work shift hours, including weekends.
