Are you a skilled and proactive Handyperson join our dedicated Engineering team at Stamford Plaza Melbourne where no two days are the same!
In this hands-on role, you’ll ensure the smooth operation of our hotel’s electrical systems and general maintenance, helping to create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members.

About the role
As our Handyperson, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
Your tasks will include:
- Conducting general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property
- Assisting with plumbing, painting, electrical, and carpentry tasks as needed
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring timely follow-up
- Supporting the Engineering team with scheduled maintenance programs and safety checks
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A relevant trade qualification or general maintenance experience will be highly regarded
- Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role (preferably within hospitality or commercial buildings)
- A proactive, “can-do” attitude and strong attention to detail
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and time management skills
- Basic understanding of workplace safety and maintenance procedures
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends if required
- Full working rights within Australia
