Are you a skilled and proactive Handyperson join our dedicated Engineering team at Stamford Plaza Melbourne where no two days are the same!

In this hands-on role, you’ll ensure the smooth operation of our hotel’s electrical systems and general maintenance, helping to create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members.

• Permanent full time position
• Rotating shifts including weekends
• Located in Little Collins Street Melbourne CBD

About the role

As our Handyperson, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.

Your tasks will include:

• Conducting general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property
• Assisting with plumbing, painting, electrical, and carpentry tasks as needed
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring timely follow-up
• Supporting the Engineering team with scheduled maintenance programs and safety checks
• Maintaining high standards of presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A relevant trade qualification or general maintenance experience will be highly regarded
• Previous experience in a maintenance or handyperson role (preferably within hospitality or commercial buildings)
• A proactive, “can-do” attitude and strong attention to detail
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and time management skills
• Basic understanding of workplace safety and maintenance procedures
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends if required
• Full working rights within Australia
