Stamford Plaza Melbourne is a five-star hotel located at the 'Paris end' of Little Collins Street in the heart of the shopping & theatre district.

 

We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager / Executive to join our Sales team

 

Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing, this role is responsible for generating rooms sales, conferences and events and incentive business for our hotel and the wider Company Group portfolio.

About the role

We seek a talented, results driven Business Development Manager / Executive who has a track record of collaborating working within, and thriving in, a competitive hospitality Sales environment. 

 

The Business Development Manager / Executive’s primary role is to establish, build and diversify robust sales pipelines, to in turn help shape the long-term sales strategies and continuous growth.

 

We seek an excitable professional who is ready to make a tangible contribution to the growing Victoria tourism and hospitality industry.

 

Core requirements of your role 

  • Take a proactive approach to client relationship cultivation, through personable and genuine interactions via phone and face-to-face
  • Contribute to and implement sales strategies to secure nominated market share
  • Pursue, identify, review and win new business opportunities
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitor offerings, minimise impact on our competitive strategies
  • Sell the hotels as a total concept, ensuring maximum business in all areas including rooms, conferences, food and beverage
  • Maintain accurate client information in relevant internal databases
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client sales enquiries, and either support or independently conduct site inspections as required
  • Collaborate closely with the Area Director of Sales and Sales team to achieve preset KPIs and objectives that are conductive
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and provide timely and friendly feedback to create and maintain outstanding rapport with prospective and existing clients, both internally and
  • Proactively participate in Sales meetings, coming armed with innovation ideas to show a solution-oriented perspective to Sales for the prosperity of our Melbourne property.

 

About you 

We seek a motivated team player who embodies the following:

  • Proven sales experience, meeting and exceeding targets
  • Previous experience as a sales coordinator/ executive
  • Success with driving the sales process from commencement to close
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Delphi & Opera knowledge (desirable)
  • Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
