The Hotel

Surrounded by the Royal Botanic Gardens, beautiful Sydney Harbour, the city skyline and located on the historic Macquarie Street is Sir Stamford Circular Quay. Awarded for its outstanding service and facilities, the hotel features 18th Century Louis XV and Georgian antiques, and houses one of Australia's largest private collections of fine art. The hotel offers 105 generously sized, luxuriously appointed guest rooms including 15 suites, a restaurant, a bar and 3 function rooms.

The Role

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Handyperson to join our maintenance team. This role requires you to maintain the building, plant & equipment, fixtures and fittings throughout the Hotel to the required standard. You will ensure a pleasant and safe environment for all guests, visitors and employees. 

The ideal candidate will have full availability for rotating shifts from Monday - Friday.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Maintenance & Repairs of the Hotel's equipment, fittings, fixtures and furniture 
• Investigate and action maintenance jobs assigned by your supervisor in a timely manner
• Completing tasks as part of the preventative maintenance program throughout the hotel including basic plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning service and repairs
• Encouraging the effective use of energy and water resources
• Performing painting tasks as required
• Service plant and general equipment as directed

The successful applicant will have:

• Previous maintenance experience in a similar role in a hotel environment
• A positive attitude and commitment to providing a well maintained environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Availability to work weekends and shift work
• Hold a current drivers license
• Basic computer skills
• A proven track record as a team player
