About the role
Stamford Plaza Adelaide are seeking candidates with flare, to drive and manage our production kitchen.
This opportunity is for someone who’s ready to lead and manage catering for events and to grow their professional career, by overseeing kitchen operations, leading and motivating a diverse team, from maintaining the flow of dishes to creating menu’s that challenge our competitors and delight our guests.
We seek a natural leader, who is comfortable training, directing and managing kitchen staff.
Core Functions of your role
- Promote food safety by teaching the team about proper food storage and shelf-life
- Build and maintain core relationships with potential food suppliers and constantly check quality produce and costs
- Manage the kitchen's budget, controlling food costs, and minimising waste to maximise profitability
- Current and modern knowledge of trends in the Hotel’s restaurant, banquets and room service industry
- Production kitchen management experience and catering for small to large events
- Creativity and willingness to try new concepts
- Experience/openness to work with the Food and Beverage Manager and Events team to create new and exciting events with creative culinary product offerings to suit
- Attend daily hotel briefings with Heads of Departments
- Developing and updating menus, including selecting ingredients, creating recipes, and ensuring variety and quality together with our Chef de Parties
- Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, including staff rostering, inventory management, and kitchen hygiene standards
- Hire, train, and manage kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, to ensure a smooth operation
- Manage all aspects of food delivery within Stamford Plaza Adelaide’s venue and functions area’s
About You

- Strong organisational abilities for preparation, planning, and cost control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill, both with the team and our guests
- Demonstrated culinary experience in a multi outlet Hotel
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Current valid Drivers Licence
- Proven ability to enforce WHS and maintain strict food hygiene standards
