The Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport is an iconic 5 star hotel with 315 accommodation rooms, located at the entrance to the Sydney domestic airport. We have 11 elegant function rooms ranging from our grand ballroom, to meeting rooms and to corporate style boardrooms. Also on site is La Boca, our vibrant Argentinean Grill, AV8 Bar, a casual diner and 24 hour room service.

We are currently seeking "a hands on"  Maintenance Manager/Assistant Chief Engineer to join our Engineering Team.  

The Role

An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Manager/Assistant Chief Engineer to join Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Hotel in accordance with current legislation and requests from Operations Team and assist the Chief Engineer in managing the department.

What are we looking for?

  • Attend to adhoc requests from Housekeeping and Front Office Department and also Hotel Guests directly
  • Good knowledge of engineering and maintenance system for the hotel
  • Assist in managing contractors
  • Report all hazards in guest and employee areas
  • Assisting in planning, organizing and controlling all matters related to engineering related matters
  • Has full understanding of and is responsible for the following systems:

- Hotel and cold water, sewage and traps

- Air-conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration

- Lighting

- Heating

- Sound and visual

- Pool filtration and quality

 -Electrical and LPG

- Kitchens

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably with electrical qualifications and background
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Knowledge of maintenance principles, techniques, and tools, including predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards for equipment safety and maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous experience in a hotel/accommodation environment
