About the role

Stamford Grand Adelaide is a five-star hotel situated a stone’s throw away from the stunning beach suburb of Glenelg, we are seeking an experienced hands-on Restaurant Manager to manage our busy Promenade Restaurant on a full-time capacity.

 

As an experienced Restaurant Manager, a core focus will be to provide effective, well-planned leadership to the team, whilst providing our guests with outstanding service. You will be an excellent communicator and passionate about people.

 

Core Functions of your role 

Working closely with our Food and Beverage Manager, Head Chef and Function & Events Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and efficiency of the Restaurant, oversee training and development of the team while engaging with guests and providing an on the floor approach to service.

 

  • Check stock levels and order supplies while consulting with the chefs regarding the planning of the menu and dishes
  • Arrange the purchasing and pricing of goods and stocks according to budget
  • Able to coordinate a full restaurant floor team at the busiest of times
  • Facilitate staff onboarding training and ongoing development, all certification, performance evaluation to maintain an active staff retention and succession plan
  • Proactively monitor roster numbers against budget/headcount to roster casuals casually
  • Ensure staff adhere to Stamford Grand Adelaide’s uniform and grooming standards
  • Prepare reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
  • Help in any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictate
  • Ensure dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance.
  • Greet guests, assist with order taking, and check to assess satisfaction with meals and dining experience
  • Coordinate and organise functions being held at the restaurant to ensure smooth running

 

About you

If you have 2+ years of relevant experience in a busy restaurant that caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner covers, whilst also holding a trade certificate in management and/or business (desirable), we’d love to receive your resume.

  • Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
  • Have experience preparing work rosters
  • Have people management experience to cater to diverse skill sets and cultural differences
  • Proven ability to remain professional when working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
