About the role:
We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Accounts Clerk to join our busy Finance Team. As an accounts clerk, you will play a critical role in our finance department, supporting accounts receivable, accounts payable and other duties with precision and efficiency. This role will be accountable for accounts accuracy and effective management of financial operations and requirements across our hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Accounts Payable with coding of invoices in DocMx.
- Counting and reconciliation of cash received from Cashiers on a daily basis. Arrange Monthly banking for collection. Update Cashier spreadsheet. Reconciliation of petty cash and disburse Petty Cash as and when required after authorisation by GM and FC.
- Assist with other finance duties when required such as cash/float count, stock take, filing etc.
- Check Internal Charges folio against Micros dockets & forms to ensure employees have signed and charges are correctly coded. FC and GM to approve.
- Update Credit card reconciliation spreadsheet from Currency Select Reports
- Assist with City Ledger invoices, check invoice against chargeback and scan and email.
- Check C&E Final Invoices against Opera and BEO ensuring AV is included.
- Other duties will be given by Accountant and FC.
Skills and Experience
- Diploma/Certificate in Finance & Economics or equivalent
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Technology savvy and familiar in computer systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, Accounting software, EAM, SUN system etc.)
- Experienced in accounts payable function including maintaining a Debtors ledger in a large organisation.
- Proficient in GST, the allocation of revenue and the matching of relevant financial transactions to the bank statements
- Minimum two years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
- Hotel experience preferred but not essential.
- Must be an Australian Resident or have valid visa to work full time.
- Problem solving skills, initiative, and the ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent attention to detail with complete accuracy in your work
- Good time management skills
- Be team orientated and enjoy working in a team environment.
