The role

We are looking for a highly dynamic and business savvy individual to join us as Accounting Manager at our busy Airport Hotel.

As an integral member of the Finance Team and reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you are assisting in ensuring that all accounting transactions covering various activities of the business are fully, accurately and properly recorded in accordance with policies, local regulations and general accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Assistant Financial Controller with all financial reports
  • Able to review fortnightly payroll and complete payroll processing if required
  • Assist in year end processing
  • Assist with annual budget
  • Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position
  • Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate
  • Assist with analyzing the Hotel’s operations to pinpoint opportunities and areas that may be reorganized, downsized, or eliminated
  • Support the reporting manager and assist with budgets, review performance against budget and provide recommendations on corrective actions.
  • Prepare/ review CHO Australia and New Zealand management companies financials and provide support for payroll and payments 

Requirements

Ideal candidate will likely possess extensive working knowledge of accounting procedures, with experience in Finance in a hospitality environment, and who are eager to develop your career into a Hotel Accountant. 

The role will require good written and spoken English, a pleasant attitude that supports team work environment.

  • Degree in Accounting/ major in Accounting
  • Preferably CA/CPA qualified
  • Technology savvy in and familiar in computer systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, Accounting software, EAM, MYOB, SUN system etc.)
  • Proficient in accounting standards, GAAP and IFRS
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Experienced in budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, possessing a high attention to detail
  • Good understanding of hotel operations and property managemernt systems, such as Opera
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
