Core requirements of the role
We seek a talented culinary technician, who has a strong work ethic to join our kitchen team full time, in the form of a Chef de Partie. In this role at Stamford Grand Adelaide, you will directly liaise to support the kitchen management team with implementing, developing, and upholding standard operational procedures, and culinary goals set by the Executive Chef.
You will oversee a kitchen section to ensure smooth service delivery to ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standard of quality, taste, and presentation.

Core Duties
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
- Oversee food inventory, and storage to minimise wastage and ensure freshness
- Discussing food preparation issues with Executive Chef and Kitchen staff
- Collaborate with the Senior Chefs and Banquets Manager on functions
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef when ordering, and daily during kitchen operations
- Assist with staff training and mentoring new starts
- Use all equipment in a safe and practical manner, ensuring the safety of associates and guests
- Contribute to menu specials with creative flair, exceeding competitor’s offerings
- Have the flexibility to be able to work in all areas of the kitchen operations to remain a well-rounded chef
- Manage the regular rotation of stock, ensuring minimal wastage
- Uphold strict health, hygiene and safety standards
About you
- Previous experience as a Chef De Partie or above
- Chef trade qualification (essential)
- Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work collaboratively with a multicultural diverse team
- Flexible to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
- Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and WH&S standards
- Demonstrated experience working in a 4- or 5-star hotel
- Ability to work unrestricted in Australia – full working rights
- Be able to lift, push and pull large objects up to 50lbs (23 kg), bend and kneel
- Good reading, writing and basic maths
