Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport is currently looking for a full time Chef de Partie to join our Kitchen Team.
The role:
We are currently seeking a talented, highly-skilled, passionate, customer service-focused Chef De Partie to join our Kitchen Team at Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced Kitchen that prepares foods for the fine dining Argentinian restaurant (La Boca Bar & Grill) and other Food & Beverage outlets.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Preparing mise-en-place for your designated work station to ensure the smooth running of service;
- Prepare all food items in accordance with standard recipes;
- Support the Head Chef in keeping up to date with the newest products and recipes;
- Supervise junior chefs and coordinate with them daily assignments;
- Check food rotation to ensure freshness of all food products, keeping control of food wastage;
- Adhere to the Hotels Policies and Procedures;
- Meet all health and hygiene requirements and cleanliness.
The successful candidate must have:
- An Australian recognized Trade or relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery;
- Minimum two years of experience in a similar capacity
- The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen;
- Experience leading a team of staff;
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written;
- A proactive approach to system improvements;
- Knowledge of HACCP and relevant food safety accreditations;
- Experience utilising inventory ordering systems is highly desirable;
- Availability to work in a rotating roster across 7 days per week.
