The role

We are looking for a highly dynamic and business savvy individual to join us as Senior Finance Officer at our busy Airport Hotel.

Reporting directly to the Area Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in our finance department. You will be an organised professional with excellent communication skills and a strong aptitude for numbers.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertaking general accounting duties including accounts payable/receivable and reconciling accounts.
  • Coordinate, perform and complete creditors payments ensuring timely payments of accounts.
  • Reconcile purchase orders, invoices and statements.
  • General ledger account reconciliation.
  • Process month end journals.
  • Compliance.
  • Preparing financial reports.

The ideal candidate will be:  

The role will require good written and spoken English, a pleasant attitude that supports team work environment.

  • Passionate about accounting and looking for the next step up in their career.
  • Experience in accounting processes (AP/AR).
  • Sound administration skills, ability to manipulate data to produce reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • SCM, Opera and Sun Systems knowledge will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry will be highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Enjoys a high-volume environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
