About the role
Working closely with the General Manager to further develop and drive financial acumen, governance, expertly balance the books proficiently to the standards of our owners. This position requires a robust professional with the abilities to lead a team and present the figures, correlate data including the analysis of results, whilst explaining the rational during meetings with Head Office in Singapore as well as pitching to the local Heads of Department. The incumbent must be able to satisfy the audience expertly.
Core requirements of your role
- Lead the team via professional effectiveness including, daily management, training and motivation to obtain high KPIs and achieve implemented set revenue targets and business goals
- Manage and annually review hotel contracts such as vendor leases and service contracts in collaboration with Purchasing
- Review to ensure accounting practices, align with front of house guest experience via seamless transaction options and efficient financial dispute resolution
- Promote collaboration via effective and clear communication and coordination with key department heads & continued collaboration with peers across both hotel properties
- Analyse ROI for capital projects and proficiently present to stakeholders for review & approval
- Timely month-end processes, cash flow management
- Oversight of accounts receivable, payable, and payroll
- Reconciliations and year-end financial tasks
- Provide impactful financial models and deliver essential analysis for strategic decisions
- Work with tax and audit advisors for compliance and manage relationships effectively for obligation
- Review monthly financial reports and supporting schedules prepared by respective Accountants
- Ensure that the profits of the organisation are protected through the establishment of effective budgetary controls and expenditure procedures
- Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate
- Perform accurate and timely variance analysis for comparison with budget and monitor actual results against budget commitments
- Monitor and interpret financial performance, make recommendations and develop insights to enhance business performance of the Hotel.
- Review performance against budget and provide recommendations on corrective actions.
About you
To be considered for the role we require an Australian citizen who has a Chartered Accountant or CPA qualification, with senior levelled experience in hotels over the past 10 years. Strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and the ability to meet deadlines is essential. The responsibilities include operational accounting, budgeting, compliance, financial analysis, and best practice initiatives.
In addition, you will have experience with Opera (Hotel Property Management System) and SunSystems accounting as well as proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a problem-solving attitude. A superior level of leadership, dedication to staff development along with an understanding of the needs and desires of customer service are essential.

This is a full-time placement, Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend work.
