Stamford Plaza Melbourne is a five-star hotel located at the 'Paris end' of Little Collins Street in the heart of the shopping & theatre district.

We are now seeking a passionate and dynamic Sales professional to join our team as Associate Director of Sales. This role will see you enthusiastically networking and attending a wide array of industry events and functions as you sell our brand and stunning guest facilities.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Generate and maintain major accounts and assigned segments.
  • Ensure thorough and complete support of sales team, to execute comprehensive achievement of targets. 
  • Assist in preparation of strategies, action plans, monthly and quarterly reports, hotel budgets and business plans.
  • Ensure that selling strategies are adhered to during negotiations and maximise all up selling opportunities across the sales team. 
  • Develop and drive existing and new opportunities across corporate, group and C&E market segments through implementation and execution of action plans in conjunction with sales team.
  • Actively participate in driving and achieving hotel's overall topline budget.
  • Build strength and continuity within the Sales team, with provision of strong supportive leadership and mentorship.

 To successfully fill this role, you should demonstrate:

We seek a person with strong commercial acumen, coupled with experience in working with a team to achieve results and drive topline across key business  segments. The successful candidate should have 3+ years’ experience as a senior Sales professional in a hotel environment and hold Vocational education in Hotel Management, Sales and Marketing or similar.

  • Excellent personal presentation with highly developed communication skills.
  • Cultivation of an engaged team  environment to drive collective success.
  • Demonstrate experience in hotel and tourism environment and the ability to convert inquiries into sales.
  • Exercise a high level organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated passion and ability in exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain industry relationships to drive new business opportunities.
  • Ability to drive and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and overall business targets.
  • Experience with Delphi and Opera Cloud an advantage.
