About the role

A unique opportunity has arisen to join the iconic Stamford Grand Adelaide as a Hotel Manager, reporting to the Area General Manager, Adelaide. To be considered for this role, we seek an experienced and professional business leader to oversee the day-to-day operational demand in the absence of the Area General Manager. As a Hotel Manager you must be a real team player working directly in a hands-on manner, within all facets of the Hotel, to ensure a smooth operation.

The successful applicant is to be equipped with exceptional communication skills, to strategically lead the team, be of an analytical, results driven mind set, be able to predict local and international trends to increase yield via increased business to meet and exceed the strategic operational goals.

Core requirements of your role

Brand image and uplift service expectations

Ensure staff meet and greet guests with a warm welcome, that they are attentive to guests’ needs and wishes and recognise opportunities to optimise the guest experience

  • Ensure the execution of exemplary customer service that drive guest satisfaction and loyalty by assisting and monitoring satisfaction before and during all daily interaction with relevant key leaders
  • Effective planning, management, and organisation of operations to deliver the best possible experience to guests
  • Timely and effectively troubleshoot any issues arising in Hotel operations
  • Monitor and motivate staff with constructive communication in a positive work environment and a shared vision of targets and career progression
  • In conjunction with departmental manager evaluate staff performance and implement annual KPI’s
  • Plan, implement and manage overall daily operations under the instruction of the Area General Manager
  • Drive forward sales strategies and oversee expenditure by collaborating with the sales and marketing director to create and implement a 12/24-month seasonal calendar of events
  • Managing the hotel’s online presence and generating an online buzz through special offers and promotions.
  • Ensuring all customer inquiries are dealt with in a timely manner and customer-oriented responses are issued for all negative review
  • Lead on sustainability programs in conjunction with the engineering team
  • As delegated, oversee/supervise maintenance and inhouse refurbishments and asset enhancements and conduct risk assessment on revenue and guest experience
  • As delegated, manage budgets and control expenditure
  • Track hotel revenue and optimise profit
  • In collaboration with the delegated HOD, analyse sales figures, reports and the different market segments and channels to define the best-suited pricing and distribution strategy

About you

The successful candidate should have 3+ years’ proven experience as a Hotel Manager or similar role in a 5-star hotel and hold a Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, or similar.

  • Proven ability to motivate and manage staff
  • Advanced working knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Full working rights in Australia

This is a full-time placement, operationally driven hours with occasional evening and weekend work
