About the role:

As an integral member of the Executive Team and reporting directly to the Singapore Head Office Director of Human Resources and you will be responsible for to lead the L&D functions for all 6 luxuries Stamford Hotels & Resorts in Australia. You are required to work closely with the property leadership team to identify and address employee and organizational development needs.

The primary focus of the L&D function is to contribute to the successful delivery of the L&D strategy by understanding the Hotel operational training needs, develop and establish the key specifics learnings for both in-person/virtual such as workshops, training programs curriculum & analyze cross-functional skill capabilities of the hotel group staff members. Drive continuous improvements in L&D functions, Develop Stamford Hotels Career Roadmaps, Competency Roadmaps and Training Roadmaps to provide Training and Development Blueprints for SHR employees.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with GMs and VP Ops to develop Stamford Operation and Service Audit (SOSA) blueprint to evaluate the consistency and level of service standards across all Stamford hotels.
  • Collaborate with hotel management teams to identify and conduct training needs assessments to determine skills and performance gaps, training priorities, learning objectives and methodologies within the Stamford Hotels group.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of L&D programs and initiatives through regular feedback, assessments, performance reviews and identify specific behavioral to effectively impact the Service Excellence, Guest relation experiences and aligning on our key business indicators.
  • Involves budget forecasting on training budgets and control expenses within the financial budget.
  • Develop Stamford Hotels Career Roadmaps, Competency Roadmaps and Training Roadmaps to provide Training and Development Blueprints for SHR employees.Develop On-the-Job (OJT) manuals for supervisors to train entry level employees (FT & Casual) during onboarding and probation process.
  • Design and deliver engaging Service Training modules, workshop/programs curriculum to roll out across Stamford Hotel group staff members, focusing on high-quality service delivery, hotel product knowledge, and operational consistency & efficiency.

To be successful:

You will likely possess extensive working knowledge with at least 5 years L&D functions in a hospitality environment. You hold a degree qualification and ideally be in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field. qualified. The role will require an exceptional level of communication, organization and attention to detail, along with problem solving abilities.

The role will require excellent written and spoken English. A superior level of leadership, dedication to staff development along with an understanding of the needs and desires of customer service are essential.


Additionally, you must have

 

  • Obtained a TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing training and assessment activities that align with the hotel standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc).
  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations, guest services, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with hotel management, staff members, and external training providers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Flexibility to travel to different hotel locations within the group as needed.
