About the role:
We are currently looking for a vibrant and experienced Reservations Agent on a Full-time basis to join our Reservations Team. Reporting directly to the Reservations Manager, this position sees you promoting, selling, and managing FIT and group bookings for the Stamford Plaza Brisbane Hotel accommodation, services, and facilities.
You will develop a good working relationship with corporate accounts, travel agents and tour operators ensuring 5-star customer service is provided to all our guests. This role is focused on group bookings and requires significant group reservations coordination so previous experience with group reservations will be highly regarded.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all calls, internal/external are answered/responded to promptly and in accordance with the Stamford policy.
- Respond to emails with accommodation and restaurant booking information, confirmations, and additional details.
- Ensure all FIT reservations and group blocks are entered correctly into Opera Cloud and Delphi / Sales Force.
- Up sell hotel Accommodation to increase average room rate, whilst maintaining hotel occupancy levels.
- Be conversant in packages and rate codes.
- Liaise closely with the Reservations Manager regarding rates, packages, and overbooking situations.
- Ensure method of payment and credit policies are specified and checked prior to arrival.
- Keep update and co-ordinate special requests for in-coming guests with the relevant departments prior to their arrival.
- Issue a group contract confirming the group method of payment, advising a due date for the rooming list, cancellation policy, or confirming any other specific information.
- Process and co-ordinate group blocks for conferences and functions in conjunction with the Banquet, Sales Departments, and direct clients.
- Process and co-ordinate reservations for Tour Series, Wholesale / Inbound, Air Crew, Entertainment/Travel Agents and one-off group bookings.
- Prepare a ‘group arrival’ information sheet which advises all the group details and email it to all involved departments for their reference.
- Prepare appropriate reservation/accommodation reports as required by the Reservations Supervisor or Manager.
- Keep informed of any sales or promotional activities.
- Arrivals and manifest are checked according to the P&P along with payment methods.
- Be fluent in the operation of the Internet and GDS.
- General office and administration duties.
- Assist and liaise with Front Office and the Sales Department as needed.
- Any other duties as directed by Management.
Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary Education in Business/ Hotel Management
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similiar role
- Knowledge of Property Management System such as Opera, Epitome or Delphi / Sales Force
