About the Role
We are currently seeking an energetic and motivated HR Advisor. This is an autonomous generalist position, suited to someone ready to take the next step in their HR career. As our HR Advisor, you will be responsible for managing all facets of the HR function. You will report directly to the Area HR Manager who oversees two hotels from the group and the General Manager of the Hotel. You will have a high level of attention to detail, excellent written, and verbal communication skills and be consistent in your delivery. The ability to be hands-on, adaptable, and resilient in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment is a necessity.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Advise and support management with employee relations issues, including grievances
- Manage all HR administrative functions including filing, employment records, appraisals, and reporting
- Monitor and manage compensation, as well as worker compensation claims and rewards and benefits programs
- Manage all aspects of the recruitment and selection process
- Encourage and support an inclusive and positive working environment
- Oversee and manage a performance system that helps drive high-performance
- Assess training needs and development, facilitate and monitor training programs
- Coordinate OHS activities including training, record keeping, and internal audits.
Skills and Experience required
- At least 3 years’ experience in an HR role preferably in the hospitality or service industry (highly desirable)
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources / Business Management
- Strong administration skills with great attention to detail
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- Thorough understanding of the relevant industry award, national employment standards, and enterprise agreement
- Experience with HRIS systems
- People-oriented and results-driven
- Excellent active listening and presentation skills
