The role

We currently have a number of vacancies for full time or casual Banquets Chefs at all levels: Chef De Partie, Demi and Commis Chefs. You will be assisting 2 hotels Sir Stamford at Circular Quay and Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport.

You choose the location, CBD Sydney or Airport Precinct. Both hotels are located near public transport. We need your experience in production kitchen!

Duties and responsibilities

  • Preparing mise-en-place for your designated work station to ensure the smooth running of service;
  • Prepare all food items in accordance with standard recipes;
  • Support the senior Chef in keeping up to date with the newest products and recipes;
  • Supervise junior chefs and coordinate with them daily assignments;
  • Check food rotation to ensure freshness of all food products, keeping control of food wastage;
  • Adhere to the Hotels Policies and Procedures;
  • Meet all health and hygiene requirements and cleanliness.

The successful candidate must have

  • An Australian recognized Trade or relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery;
  • Knowledge of South American cuisine would be a plus, but not essential; 
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen;
  • Excellent communications skills, friendly and helpful;
  • A proactive approach to system improvements;
  • Knowledge of HACCP and relevant food safety accreditations;
  • Be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.
