About the role:

Stamford Plaza Brisbane is seeking a permanent full-time Chefs experienced in Japanese cuisine, especially Teppanyaki, to join our team in the Kabuki Japanese Restaurant. Our Chefs are responsible for providing dramatic food preparation with flair & theatre to our discerning guests in an authentic Japanese style.

Your duties will include:

  • Preparing quality dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Enforcing hygiene regulations
  • Train and mentor staff on teppanyaki techniques if necessary 
  • Responsible for maintaining a sanitary kitchen workstation
  • To interact with customer with utmost respect 

To be considered for this position the successful applicant will need to have the following qualifications or skills:

  • AQF Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or trade equivalent, OR
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field as substitute or formal qualification
  • Experience in Teppanyaki

You will:

  • Be available to work weekends, public holidays and split shifts for lunch and dinner service
  • Be an excellent and confident communicator
  • Enjoy working in a team environment
  • Be organised and have an eye for detail
  • Be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a calm demeanour
  • Be dedicated to providing 5 star customer service with flair & showmanship
  • Take pride in personal presentation and hygiene
