Stamford Plaza, one of Brisbane's finest five star hotels is now searching for a passionate Rooms Division Manager to join our team.

Reporting directly to the EAM/Hotel Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing the Front Desk and Concierge department and maintain partnership with other departments.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the busy operation by fostering a team that is engaged and consistently strives to deliver a superior level of guest service.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Control and analyse departmental costs on an ongoing basis to ensure performance against budget;
  • Manage and utilise the staff and resources available to organise and facilitate the highest possible standards in room inventory management and sales;
  • Drive the Rooms Division team to promote and upsell rooms and restaurants at every opportunity to increase hotel revenue;
  • Promote and encourage self and staff to follow the hotels vision, goals and values while encourage clear communication lines and forum;
  • Ensure self and staff display professional, friendly and helpful service to all guests;
  • Enforce hotel policies and procedures and provide guidance to staff;
  • Monitor all Rooms Division departments' rostering and ensure highest levels of productivity at all times;
  • Liaise with the Housekeeping Department, any discrepancies in room status and take necessary action;
  • Liaise with the Engineering team, to ensure effective and efficient repairs and preventative activities.
  • Assist on implementation of projects across the hotel
  • Liaise with Sales and Marketing on VIP visits
  • Deal with guest complaints and issues and ensure it is resolved promptly in accordance with the hotels’ core values;
  • Oversee and manage the coordination of all security functions within the hotel that are concerned with continuity and safety.
  • Coach and train staff and managers in all aspects of the role outlined in their job descriptions, particularly with a customer service focus;
  • Review and update policies and procedures for the department;
  • Develop, monitor and review the WHS Management System, including, injury and risk management;

 

To be considered for this position you should possess:

  • Previous Front Office management experience within a 4 or 5 star hotel;
  • A demonstrated history of achieving financial targets and working within a budget;
  • Experience in coaching and developing a team, recruitment and performance management;
  • Excellent organisational, time management and computer literacy skills;
  • The ability to deal with guest issues in a timely, positive and professional manner;
  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A high standard of personal presentation;
  • Knowledge of the Opera system will be highly regarded;
  • Formal qualifications in Hotel Management are desirable but not essential
