Human Resource Coordinator | Maternity Leave Contract

Stamford Plaza Melbourne is a five star luxury hotel located at the 'Paris end' of Little Collins Street in the heart of the shopping & theatre district. We are now seeking a Human Resources Coordinator with a passion for customer service to join our team. This position will be reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner.

 The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • accurately coordinating the payroll function for the hotel on a fortnightly basis
  • streamlining procedures in order to develop efficiencies
  • coordinate learning and development activities for staff
  • attend and coordinate monthly OH&S committee meetings and circulate minutes for continuous improvement
  • coordinate reward and recognition program, social club activities and staff communication meetings
  • coordinate recruitment and selection of front line positions
  • organize the hotel internship program
  • providing employee relations advice to staff
  • ensuring staff files are compliant and stored securely at all times


Stamford Plaza Melbourne are looking for a person who has:

  • tertiary qualifications in Human Resources / Business Management (essential)
  • previous experience in Human Resources preferably in the hospitality or service industry (highly desirable)
  • understanding of the relevant industry award, national employment standards and enterprise agreement
  • experience with HRIS systems preferably Kronos
  • ability to remain confidential at all times
  • strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • ability to create professional relationships
  • an ability to work under pressure
  • excellent customer service skills (both internal and external)
  • excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • exceptional organizational skills and an ability to follow tasks through to completion
  • an ability to foster team spirit with a positive, can do attitude
  • strong computer literacy
  • proactive and positive focus with a passion for hospitality and travel
